IVF sector is increasingly open to the breaking down of national borders, to the movement of gametes and embryos between specialized centers, to the creation of international networks of clinics. Uniform morphological classification of embryos is therefore a fundamental objective. In this study commissioned by the Italian Society of Embryology and Reproduction and Research (Sierr), with authors from the GeneraLife group, first sign Danilo Cimadomo (Science and Research Manager), published in RBMo, disparities in evaluation between different centers has been highlighted. The future of automation and AI will help to standardize even more this fundamental evaluation parameter in IVF, the experts note.

According to what the authors suggest, standardizing the morphological classification of embryos is essential in order to eliminate the subjectivity of the judgment of embryologists in this type of evaluation, which is so important in the treatment cycles.
