Dr. Filippo Maria Ubaldi

Director of the Scientific Executive Committee of GeneraLife and co-founder of Genera

 

With academic degrees in Ob & Gyn, Masters in Andrology and Reproductive Medicine, PhD in Andrology at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, he is also intensely dedicated to scientific activity.

Author and co-author of 205 scientific papers with Scopus H-index of 53, he has been invited as speaker at >600 National and International congresses on the topic of Reproductive Medicine. Member of the ESHRE Executive Committee during 2005-2009, he has been Chairman of the 26th ESHRE Annual Meeting held in Rome in June 2010.

In 2014 and 2019 he received the Italian National Scientific License as full Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and he is currently the Chairman of the Italian Society of Fertility and Sterility (SIFES).

Dr. Laura Rienzi

Director of the Scientific Executive Committee of GeneraLife and co-founder of Genera

 

With 30 years’ experience in human assisted reproduction technologies, pre-implantation genetic testing and cryopreservation of human oocytes, sperm and embryos, Laura Rienzi is the Director of the Scientific Executive Committee of the GeneraLife network of IVF clinics in Europe.

Laura obtained her degree in Biology magna cum laude at the University of Rome “La Sapienza", University of Rome, a Master degree and a course specialization in Reproductive Medicine at the University of Padua. Since 2016, she is Adjunct Professor of Biotechnology in Assisted Reproduction at the Faculty of Biology, University of Urbino, Italy. She has authored >200 articles (Scopus Index 52), reviews and book chapters, she has also been invited to speak in more than 300 national and international scientific meetings and has won several awards regarding fertility investigation and innovation.

In 2008 she founded together with Dr. Filippo Maria Ubaldi the Genera IVF centers, with 4 different locations in Italy, where she is Laboratory Director. In 2020, she was actively involved in the creation of GeneraLife, a network of >30 clinics in 5 different countries in Europe: the name GeneraLife was inspired by the group she founded 12 years before.

Dr. Danilo Cimadomo

Science and Research Manager of GeneraLife

He received a Bachelor and Master of Science cum laude at the University of Pavia in Medical Biotechnologies and in Molecular Biology and Genetics, respectively. He also obtained an advanced course in Novel technologies in molecular medicine at the University of Padua and a Ph.D. in Morphogenesis and Tissue Engineering at the University of Rome, Sapienza. After two internships at the University of Pavia and at the University of Cambridge, he started working at the Genera centers in Italy, where he contributed to the validation, implementation and monitoring of the preimplantation genetic testing program in collaboration with the Genetyx laboratory.

Passionate about sharing his expertise, he is reviewer or associate editor for several international journals in the field of reproductive medicine and author of more than 60 papers in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. He is member of the executive committee of the Italian society of embryology, research and reproduction (SIERR) and basic science officer of the special interest group in implantation and early pregnancy of the European society of human reproduction and embryology (ESHRE).

Dr. Alberto Vaiarelli

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery, specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology with expertise in infertility problems and obtained a PhD in Reproductive Endocrinology at the University of Messina. He also has a master’s degree in Reproductive Medicine at the University of Urbino and in Andrology at the University of Padova.

Dr. Vaiarelli loves sharing his expertise, he obtained the National Scientific Habilitation as Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology, having lectured at several international scientific meetings. He is a reviewer of scientific journals, author and/or co-author of articles, book chapters and abstracts presented at international meetings and is secretary of the Italian Society of Fertility and Sterility (SIFES).

Dr. Andrea Borini

Director of 9.BABY

 

Graduated in Medicine and Surgery and specialized in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the University of Bologna. From 1983 to 1992, Andrea Borini attended the Reproductive Physiopathology Service directed by Prof. Carlo Flamigni. From 1989 to 1991 he was Research Fellow at the University of California Irvine in Irvine, California. During this period he attended the "Center for Reproductive Health" directed by Prof. Ricardo Asch carrying out research in the field of couple infertility and recent assisted fertilization methods.

He holds a II Level University Masters in Andrology, a Postgraduate Course in Clinical Andrology and a II Level University Masters in Reproductive Medicine. He is a member of the Italian Society of Fertility and Sterility (SIFES), of which he was also president, of the American Fertility Society (AFS) and of the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embriology (ESHRE). Founder of Tecnobios Procreazione, since October 2015 he is Director of 9.Baby Fertility Network. He is the author of 287 publications and in August 2019 he obtained the National Scientific Qualification for first and second level teaching.

Dr. Francesca Bongioanni

Medical director of Livet GeneraLife centre in Turin

She obtained her Medical Doctor degree, a PhD in Clinical Sciences and an MBA in Sanitary management at the University of Turin.
She was quality system manager and responsible for National Authority inspection, and currently leads a team of 8 gynecologists in GeneraLife Livet. Passionate about sharing her knowledge and experiences she is also a lecturer at the University of Turin and at national scientific meetings.

Dr. Claudia Livi

Medical Director and co-founder of Demetra by GeneraLife centre in Florence

Graduated in Medicine and Surgery and specialized in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the University of Florence. She has always been interested in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility and collaborated with the Institute of Immunology, with the staff of Prof. Romagnani at the University of Florence. Her work regarded the studies on embryo implantation. Livi produced many works that have been published in international scientific journals.

Part of the Medically Assisted Procreation group of the Regional Health Council of the Tuscan Region, she has promoted conferences on the conservation of fertility, on the treatment of serum-discordant couples and on communication on infertility, for which she worked with the University of Milan. She has also promoted the Italian version of the booklet on “Donation of oocytes. A guide for women to support informed decisions”, drawn up by the EDQM and ESHRE.

Dr. Jan Holte

Medical Director of Carl Von Linné Clinic Uppsala

Certified physician in 1979 and board certified specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1984, Jan Holte worked clinically and as a researcher from 1986 to 1996 at Uppsala University Hospital, focusing on infertility and hormone imbalances. His PhD dissertation in 1994 focused on PCO (polycystic ovaries). He continued to be involved in this type of research as an advisor to several doctoral students.

Holtes’ research within PCO includes infertility not only because of menstrual disturbances but also due the link between PCO, obesity/overweight problems, eating disorders and diabetes.

Holte often lecture nationally and internationally on these problems. Recently, his research studied prognostic variables affecting IVF outcome. Together with a statistician, Lars Berglund, at Uppsala Clinical Research Center, Holte have been a thesis advisor to several mathematics students.

Dr. Joaquín Llácer

Dr. Llácer has over 30 years of experience in the field of assisted reproduction. He holds a Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Valencia, specializing in obstetrics and gynecology at Hospital Universitario La Fe (Valencia) and holds a PhD in Medicine from the University Miguel Hernández of Elche. During the past 26 years Dr. Llácer has been part of the team of gynecologists at Instituto Bernabéu, where he also took part in the medical direction of the group and was a member of the Board of Directors.   

Among his professional achievements it was particularly noteworthy the extraordinary doctorate award for his thesis, as well has being awarded by the British Fertility Society and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. In addition, Dr. Llácer has combined his medical activity with academic teaching in different master’s degree at University Complutense of Madrid and University of Alicante. He has authored over 50 papers in reproductive medicine journals, both national and international, and is currently a member of the scientific committee of the Spanish Fertility Society (SEF).

Dr. Peter Uher

Founder and head physician of GeneraLife FertiCare in Prague and the Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Genetics in Karlovy Vary

He was part of the team led by Professor Pilka, who oversaw the first successful in vitro fertilization in Czechoslovakia and the entire Eastern Bloc.

He worked in several institutions and opened the Institute of Reproductive Medicine in Plzeň which in three years became one of the top three centers in the Czech Republic. He also opened the Institute of Reproductive Medicine and Genetics in Karlovy Vary, and started the IVF Cube clinic in Prague. After the years of expertise, he founded FertiCare. He has written books and articles in numerous publications sharing his medical experience and insight from working in gynecology and genetics in the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland and the USA.

Dr Pascual Sánchez

Completed his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Salamanca, then then specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Women's Hospital of Seville, Spain. Master in Breast Pathology and Senology from the University of Barcelona, and Doctorate from the University of Seville with the honour of summa cum laude. 

He is Medical Director of Ginemed since 1992, and Co-Director of the Master’s Program in Assisted Human Reproduction of the University of Seville.

Member of the Spanish Gynaecology and Obstetrics Society (S.E.G.O), Member of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), and Member of the Spanish Fertility Society (SEF), among others. Dr Pascual is passionate  about medical research and thought his career he has published more than 40 scientific articles published in national and international journals, 7 national and international projects on Research, Development and Innovation as Lead Researcher. 11 scientific papers presented at national and international conferences and he has been Invited  more than 50 lectures and conferences at national and international meetings.

Dr Fernando Sánchez

Medical Director of Ginemed

Completed his degree in Medicine at the University of Salamanca in 1989, then specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from 1991 to 1995 at the Women's Hospital of Seville, Spain, in addition to carrying out an External Fellowship in Assisted Reproduction in Norfolk, Virginia (USA) at Eastern Virginia Medical University in 1995.

In 1997 he received his Doctorate from the University of Seville with the honour of summa cum laude. He also holds a Master's Degree in Breast Pathology. Since 1997 Dr. Fernando Sánchez has worked at Ginemed. 

He has authored several publications in national and international journals and is also an internationally renowned speaker. He also coordinated several international research studies. 

In 2017 Dr. Fernando Sánchez opened Ginemed's Specialised Unit for Complex Cases, Implantation Failure and Recurrent Miscarriage. In 2018 he started the Advanced Maternal Age Unit. In addition to seeing patients in the Specialised Unit for Complex Cases, Dr. Fernando Sánchez currently manages the Ginemed group.

Dr. Monica Aura Masip

Medical Director of GeneraLife Ginefiv in Barcelona

She graduated in Medicine and General Surgery, completed a Doctorate Program in Medicine and obtained a master's degree in Health Center Management at the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona. She also has a master’s in human Reproduction IVI at the University Juan Carlos I.
Specialized in Gynecology and Obstetrics, she has more than 20 years of experience and aptitude for the technical tasks of reproduction treatments, having trained and achieving high levels of expertise in renowned hospitals in Barcelona. She is a member of the Spanish Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics, of the Spanish Fertility Society and of the Board of the Reproduction Department of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Barcelona.

Interested in sharing her expertise she has associated as professor in several institutions and has published in national journals, presented several communications in national and international congresses and participated as a principal investigator in clinical studies.
